• FOR PUPPIES

 

Accelerated Puppy Training

Your puppy stays in our head trainer's home and learns all that is needed to life happily with you. Includes potty training, crate training, manners and basic obedience including walking nicely on a leash. Puppy is safely socialized with other dogs and people and attends STAR Puppy classes twice a week. Included is 3 private follow up lesson with you as well as 2 more STAR Puppy group classes with you. Only 1 puppy at a time is trained so make your reservations as soon as possible.
Start any Monday.  $2000 / 4 weeks

 

STAR Puppy
Puppies learn socialization skills, manners and start the training process. People learn how to potty and crate train their puppies and how to play with and enjoy their new family member. All puppies who successfully finish the class earn their STAR Puppy award from the AKC. 
Start any Saturday morning or Tuesday night. $100/6 weeks

Puppy Builder
This fun, fast paced class builds focus, confidence and skills in puppies 16 weeks and up. Great for all puppies but is especially helpful for puppies who are headed toward various performance sports.
Thursdays @ 7:00 pm, $150/6 weeks 

Puppy Player
Continue the socialization started in STAR Puppy all the way through adolescence. This off-leash playtime allows puppies the opportunity to learn proper play behavior, how to safely interact with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and greet people properly. Every puppy will be up to date on shots and trainers will be supervising and helping owners and puppies to learn how to continue playing nicely.

In-home Puppy Training
In-home training is perfect if you have a busy schedule, need help with a specific training area or have a puppy that may need a little extra attention. Includes potty training, crate training, puppy obedience, puppy issues but can be customized to address anything that is needed.

• FOR DOGS

 

Basic Obedience
Classes are small and use our gentle, effective positive reinforcement techniques. Exercises are developed to create success for you and your pup from the beginning. The classes cover attention exercises, calming, name recognition, sit, down, stay and loose leash walking. For puppies and dogs 6 months to adult or graduation from S.T.A.R. Puppy class.
Next class session begin on February 7th 2015 (1 space left!) at 10 am and February 17th at 7 pm. $250/8 weeks

A note about bringing your dog to class- Please don’t feel embarrassed if your dog is imperfect. We understand that you are coming to class with your dog precisely because your dog is not trained. As such, we expect barking, lunging and other “bad” or excited behaviors. We will gladly help you work through them because that’s our job. It’s all about progress, not perfection.

Intermediate Obedience
Learn new commands such as stand, heel and finish, proof and mold basic commands and learn to control your dog in real world situations. For dogs who have finished Basic Obedience or with permission from instructor. 
Monday February 7th at 7pm . $150/6 weeks

Advanced Obedience
Learn to work off-leash while perfecting out of sight stays, advanced heel work, distant commands and more. For dogs who have complete at least one session of Intermediate Obedience or with permission from the instructor.
Ongoing Saturdays at 2pm. Open, on-going class- $10/class

Loose Leash Walking Class
If your dog is REALLY bad on walks, this is the class for you! Learn effective loose leash walking techniques and how to handle your dog around distractions. No previous training required.
Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Open, on-going class- $10/class

Canine Good Citizen
For dogs who have finished Basic Obedience or with permission from instructor.

• FOR FUN

 

Friday Night Flyball! (WHAT IS FLYBALL?)
Join us on Fridays for fun and fitness in this non-competitive class flyball class. Go from station to station to work on tug, box turns, flyball recalls and jumps and then put it all together at the end of the night.

Competitive Obedience
Work towards your beginner novice or novice AKC or UKC obedience titles. This class is a great way to build focus and control. Open to dogs who have mastered their Basic Obedience exercises.

Rally
Rally is a fast paced, fun sport for any handler/dog team. People new to dog sports will love building a working relationship with their dogs. Classes cover all the signs and strategies for cleanly effectively navigating the course. Dogs must have successfully finished Basic Obedience or with the permission of the instructor. Agility Foundation
Introduce yourself and your dog to the exciting world of dog Agility! No matter if your goal is a more active, fit dog or to compete in agility trials this class is for you. Dogs will learn to be comfortable with all of the obstacles and handling basics through floor work (off the obstacles) will be covered.
Thursdays @ 8:00pm. Next class begins on March 26th.

Kids Camp
Pup Scouts is expanding our extremely popular Kids Camp. There will be three one-week camps this year- Obedience, Agility and Junior Showmanship. Camps are for children 9 years-old and up and their friendly dogs. They include training, dog care, grooming, crafts plus a Friday evening demonstration for family members. Cost is $250 with multi-week and sibling discounts available. We suggest that you register as early as possible for reserve a spot for your child.
 

Obedience Camp- We'll learn, practice and proof the basic commands and apply them while learning the obedience game of Rally.
Starts Monday, June 8th, 2015

Agility Camp- We'll learn the obstacles, handling skills on the flat and commands needed to successfully run an agility course.
Starts Monday, June 15th, 2015

Jr. Showmanship Camp- This classes teaches children to get ready to compete in AKC and UKC junior showmanship competitions and to show dogs in the conformation ring. Lessons include stacking, free stacking, gaiting and grooming to prepare your dog for the show ring. Dogs do not have to be purebred.
